The Academic Writing and Research Centre (The AWRC)
• Need the help of a peer tutor?
• Not understanding the question?
• Having difficulty generating ideas?
• Unsure on how to cite sources?
• Want to become a better editor?
• Looking for a quiet workspace?
The AWRC can help!
Where: The Library
When: At Lunch, Monday-Thursday
Along with providing a quiet workspace and access to the Library’s resources, The Academic Writing and Research Centre offers both teacher and peer support in all subject areas. Coordinated by a teacher, students are paired, allowing the Peer Tutor to support the student in need, either by reviewing concepts, helping with homework
and/or teaching various study skills.
No appointment is necessary. If you would like to access this support, please stop by The AWRC, speak with your classroom or Advocacy teacher, or the teachers coordinating the Peer Tutoring Program.
Students who wish to become Peer Tutors should contact the teachers coordinating the program. Peer Tutors are provided with training and will earn volunteer hours.
