Volunteering

Why Volunteer? Individual benefits:

Credit Requirements: Option 1

Enrolled in any of the following school based courses:  

Family Studies grade 10, 11 or 12 (- you must complete two levels of family studies)

Or

Phys. Ed. Leadership Grade 10,11/12

Credit Requirements– Option 2

School Programs/Clubs

 - PRE-approved school based volunteering* (implementation of school lead programs to include team managers, activist club, student council, school production  crews,  peer tutoring, etc) to a maximum of 25 hours.

Credit Requirements– Option 3

Non-Profit agency Students

-Students should complete a minimum of 15 hours per school year from grades 10-12 in order to accumulate the required 55 hours.

Credit Requirements– Option 4

Summer Volunteering at a Non-Profit agency

-Students wishing to volunteer over the summer must get PRE-approval from the Community Services coordinator or without approval up to a maximum of 25 hours accepted in the months of July and August.

´Grade 9 – can only accumulate 25 hours maximum towards your credit (any hours above will be banked for scholarships in grade 12)
