Welcome to English Language Arts at Garden City. For each of the four years of high school, students will take a compulsory course in English. In grade 12, students are also offered additional English course options to deepen and enrich their ELA skills. 

 

The goals of our program are for students to:

* practice within the field of English Language Arts through writing, reading, representing and discussing.

* develop flexible and versatile ways of thinking, while using language to meet personal, social, and academic needs.

* build a sense of self, identity, community.

* sustain a lifelong sense of curiosity, a passion for learning, and an appreciation of the power and beauty of language.
